(NPR)The group No Labels will not nominate a third-party presidential candidate this year.

The organization had emerged earlier this year as a potentially well-funded force in the election. However, No Labels said Thursday that finding the right candidates proved difficult.

"No Labels has always said we would only offer our ballot line to a ticket if we could identify candidates with a credible path to winning the White House," the group said in a statement. "No such candidates emerged, so the responsible course of action is for us to stand down."

I wonder what difference the brief illness and death of Joe Lieberman made in the failure of No Labels to recruit a candidate. Probably little.

Still, this is discouraging to the HatetheSwamp crowd. It suggests that the Swamp still is powerful enuff to intimidate otherwise bright people of conscience.

At this point, not knowing who will be on the Libertarian Party ticket, pb'll be supporting RFKJ.

They should give Bernie a call. 😌

Interesting, Indy. I don't think he'd do it. Their idea was to find a moderate alternative. Bernie doesn't fit. But, if Bernie was a third-party alternative, I'd consider him very seriously. Very, very seriously.

Like Warren and Christie - Bernie missed his opportunity. He should have run as an independent in 2020.
